LAPD Class Action
GENERAL INFO
This is the well known "Whistle Blower" class action.
The Official Title is Johnneen Jones, et al. v. City of Los
Angeles, et al. The United States District Court Case No.
is 00-11505. Our Judge is the Honorable Florence Marie Cooper.
It is believed that this is
the larges police employment case ever in the United States.
The action is growing.
IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENTS
Nearly 200 clients and prospective clients appeared in court
for the initial status conference on January 26, 2001. There
was significant media coverage of the event. Some of the newspaper

It is not too late to join
this class action. If you believe you are the victim of discrimination,

action will be broken into separate classes. You may need

This is to protect confidentiality. Some highly sensitive

As depositions are taken portions of some of them will be
posted here. Again, some information is likely to be redacted
because of privacy concerns.
DISCOVERY
We have sent several requests to the defendants to produce
documents. On February 2, 2001 we sent Requests for Admissions
and Interrogatories to the City of Los Angeles. Some of this
discovery is attached for your review.
